Presented here is a wonderful early SATSUMA VASE, it is the finest hand painted Satsuma vase I ever had.  The image of the SAMURAI WARRIOR is very striking.  This is the first time I have seen the Samurai on a Satsuma vase.  The vase is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs.  There is some minor gold wear on the cobalt blue.  The vase stands approximately 6" high and is 2.5" in diameter. The vase is artist signed on the base.  It was produced in the Satsuma Province in Japan as indicated by the circle mark on the base.  This is truly an outstanding example of fine, hand painted early Satsuma.
