For your Consideration; Gorgeo pair of Antique Japanese Signed Meji Period Gilt Bronze Vases with Silver Rims. Chappaqua, NY estate find. Incredible detailed figures. These pair of gilded bronze vases each of tapering cylindrical form with steep shoulder and narrow neck with everted lip, decorated with the Shichifukujin (Seven Gods of Good Fortune) in kebori and silver, gold and shakudo hon-zogan, signed to the side "Shinzan". Extra notes: The Japanese Shichifukujin, shichi (seven) fuku (luck) jin (beings), have been a very popular group of deities since the Edo period. Pictures and sculptures of these gods are seen all over Japan, either alone or as a group, and often on their treasure ship. The contrast of the figures on the gold ground works especially well I mt say, combined with the slender shape of vases. Very collectable pieces. Buy with Confidence. Priced to sell. Condition Report: Overall Excellent.
