Up for sale is an interesting antique Japanese woodblock depicting a seated figure with considerable writing around him resting in a black wood frame. This is one of three near identical works that were purchased together with the 1st work having a paper label on the reverse that reads "By Seikasai made in 1801, Guaranteed genuine old original T. Sakai established 1874 Tokyo". I have little understanding of this and have been unable to locate any real information on this artist. The woodblock is in good condition but has a handful of what appears to be holes from book worms present in the paper. I also have another two prints which appear to be from the same artist. The frame measures 9 x 11 while the woodblock measures 5.5 x 7.5 inches.
