A VERY RARE AND OUTSTANDING EDO PERIOD 1603-1868, BUTSUDAN (BUDDHA ALTAR) WITH A BEAUTIFUL STATUE OF AMIDA BUDDHA 阿弥仏, INTERPRETED AS THE BUDDHA OF THE INFINITE LIGHT AND LIFE. THIS PIECE WAS CREATED AROUND THE 1820, IS HAND CRAFTED WITH EBONIZED WOOD, BRONZE MOUNTINGS AND DECORATED WITH 4 PAINTED HINGED DOORS PANELS. THIS PANELS OPEN COMPLETELY AND ARE DECORATED WITH 4 REPRESENTATIONS ON MONKS. THIS JAPANESE BUDDHIST SHRINE IS IN REMARKABLE CONDITION AND SHOW SIGN OF AGING. A BEAUTIFUL COMPLETE ALTAR WITH ALL THE ORIGINAL ELEMENTS, CASINGS AND THE BRONZE LOCK.
