Small koro incense burner in the shape of an abstracted, squatting quailwith its beak open to let out the smoke of the incense. Greenish brownpatinated bronze. Signature engraved in bottom: Kibun tsukuru. Japan, Taishoera, 1920s. H ca. 3.25 in.; W 2.75 in. Excellent condition Comes with original wooden storage box. Cover inscribed outside: 'Bronzemade, quail incense burner', with red (faded) seal. Cover inside signed: KibundoShohei zo and red artist’s seal.
