This is an intricately and finely handmade Japanese Hina Doll depicting a bearded Jimmu Tenno with his emblematic long bow and an accompanying three-legged crow. Perhaps one of the finest examples you can find. Jimmu was the 1st Emperor of Japan, born on Feb. 11th 660 BC and died April 9th 585 BC. This doll was given as a gift to our parents when living in Japan in the late 1960s / early 1970s from their Japanese friends. It is beautifully and intricately handcrafted by a Japanese artist. It is in excellent condition and was kept in a display case over the decades. It is mounted to a black painted wooden base. The wood on the base has split a little but remains well intact. The bow will be separated from the doll for in x 9.5 in Doll measures about 19 inches from the bottom of the feet to top of the crow. Does not include a display case.
