A Late Classic Maya Polychrome Cylinder Peten, Guatemala, c. 600-900 AD Earthenware finely painted in orange, cream, and black. Two panels divided diagonally, each enclosing an unusual white-painted figure with thin limbs and torso, seated or leaning forward from an elaborate feathered construction. The feet seen from above in contrast to the upper body seen in profile. The two diagonal columns have crosses that also appear in the sky band above. Floral and feathered fan shapes in the reserves. In very good condition, a stable crack from rim down one side, the interior pitted, the paint with very minor small losses, pits, and abrasions.
