宝石红釉亦称“鲜红釉”、“霁红釉”、“积红釉”、“醉红釉”。因受窑内气氛影响较大，烧造出颜色纯正均匀者极为难得，红釉品种中只有少部分釉色可以称之为宝石红釉，自明初永乐年间创烧成功始，其后各朝无不以此为衡量制瓷水平的标准，清雍正官窑在严格的制度下，烧造技术成熟，拍品即为一例同时期之佳作。
拍品卧足，线条流畅秀美，胎质细腻。外壁满施霁红釉，釉色纯正浓艳，釉面微现桔皮现象，具有雍正时期典型特征。卧足之形，盛兴于永乐、宣德二朝，造型创作源于古波斯簪花银制卧足碗，为雍正朝御瓷之独有式样，属碗中最为尊贵的碗形之一。
