Historical Staffordshire Liverpool transfer decorated creamware pitcher depicting the "chicken leg" Eagle Seal of the United States surrounded by a chain containing the names of the 16 states comprising the Union including Tennessee -spelled "Tenassee". On the reverse side is an American maritime ship "Packet of Boston" with polychrome highlights. The name of the owner, J.D Nichoson, within a laurel wreath, is depicted below the spout. 9" H. Circa 1792-1796. CONDITION: UV light inspection reveals possible restoration to the handle, spout and areas of the rim, and also a possible restoration to the lower body.
