Rendered in deep shades of gold and umber with a thick impasto technique. Signed lower left with artist's name and title en verso. Biography: Minnesota born Tonalist painter Benjamin Osro Eggleston trained at the Minneapolis School of Fine Arts under Douglas Volt and studied Impressionism in France in the 1890s. Once back in the U.S., he established a studio in Brooklyn. He summered at the Old Lyme Art Colony from 1900-1920. He was a Member of the Salmagundi Club, Brooklyn Society of Artists, All American Artists and was President of the Brooklyn Art Club. His work was exhibited at the National Academy, Art Institute of Chicago, Pennsylvania Academy, Boston Art Club, Paris Salons, the Carnegie Institute, and Brooklyn Art Association. (Source: Askart).
