A Chinese ink on paper horizontal painting by Ding Yanyong and dedicated to Yuhuang. The painting depicts 3 birds, a cat, and a pair of frogs with fruit and leaves. The painting includes a calligraphy poem with 1 seal. It is mounted on a silk backing with wooden dowels. Dimensions: 11 1/2 inches tall X 103 inches wide; 29.2 cm tall X 261.6 cm wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Overall good condition with some creasing and 1 possible repair. Provenance: From the estate of Lee Yuhuang. Mr. Lee was an accomplished artist in Hong Kong, where he was part of the Lingnan School, before he emigrated to San Francisco. While in San Francisco, he taught Chinese painting techniques and continued to collect Chinese paintings and calligraphy, a practice he had begun in Hong Kong.
