A pair of Chinese lacquer cabinets with precious stone inlay, dating from the 16th to the 17th century. The cabinets feature different scenes, both containing 16 figures and auspicious symbols and animals. The cabinets both include a cloisonne closure. Dimensions: 44 1/2 inches tall X 32 inches wide X 15 inches deep; 113 cm tall X 81 cm wide X 38 cm deep. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Locks are missing; many areas of missing inlay; cracks to the lacquer. Provenance: From Mrs. Przecha in Southern California, by descent; acquired by Mrs. Przecha's step-father, a military doctor, while stationed in Tianjin during the 1920s.
