A pair of Chinese small famille rose plates by Zhang Songtao and dating from the Republic period. The plates depict 3 sparrows in a pink flowering tree and a pair of kingfishers among lotuses, and each features an inscription and 3 seals. Dimensions: 3/4 inches tall X 5 1/2 inches wide, 1.9 cm tall X 14 cm wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: The sparrow plate has 1 small chip to the rim; the kingfisher plates has 2 chips to the rim. Provenance: From a collection in Southern California.
