麒麟送子为民间祈子风俗，麒麟为仁义之兽，聪颖可爱之男童则有“麟儿”之称。拍品形制规整硕大，筒壁厚薄匀称，线条挺括，沉稳有力，无臃胀之虞，同类器中不为多见。外壁以青花绘“麒麟送子”图，戴冠童子跨坐于麒麟背上，身披官袍，手执如意，笑逐颜开；麒麟昂首奋蹄，神态傲然；周围诸童子或捧乌纱，或执华盖，嬉笑活泼；隙地题诗“屏开金孔雀，天赐玉麒麟”。画面构图疏朗有致，人物生动趣致，画工娴熟流畅，寓意喜庆吉祥，青花发色明丽青翠，层次分明，实属文房佳器，时代特征鲜明，足堪赏玩。 参阅：《明清笔筒》，中国青年出版社，1997年，页30，图13
