Idiok" mask of the male initiation society "Ekpo" with a powerful and aggressive aspect. It is the archetype of the Idiok masks evoking wandering spirits and characterized by facial deformations here focused on excessive dentition. The face with stylized features, temporal and frontal scarification in high relief, eyes open on heavy eyelids.
The sculptural quality of this mask and its interior patina attest to the use and antiquity of the object.
