此炉以银为材，采用鎏金方式，仿商周青铜器形，炉身长方，平折沿。炉顶四方出戟。炉盖呈梯形，四面饰兽面纹，炉身口沿外翻，子母口，腹部浅刻回纹为地，主纹为仿古兽面纹，云纹状双角内卷，长鼻阔口，双目圆睁，双睛外凸，面容狰狞，显示出强烈的震慑之感。两侧双耳直立，回纹而饰。炉身四角出戟威慑四方，炉下承四足。此炉器形恢弘，通体鎏金，工艺精细，纹饰精美，鼎炉合一，庄重典雅，气度非凡。兽面纹鼎式炉造型为仿古青铜器造型。在清代仿古之风盛行的影响下，结合了本朝风格。该器以银为材，局部鎏金，比较少见。器形稳重圆浑，器壁厚实，手感沉重，包浆自然，色泽古雅。此鼎制作精细，造型仿古，规整文雅，纹饰生动。为清代仿古大雅之物。
