A rare Russian dragoon officer's shashka M.1881/09 with quality Caucasian etched blade by Musayev (Мусаевъ).

Very good quality blade, single-edged, significantly curved. Double fuller both sides, accentrical tip. Etched decoration on ricasso - cartouche with floral sprays and maker's signature in Cyrillic – Мусаевъ (Musayev). On other side similar cartouche with Tsar Nicolas II monogram surrounded by floral sprays.

Closed hilt, wooden grip, pommel with Nicolas II monogram. All brass parts with remains of gilt. Regulation scabbard, wood covered with black leather, gilt brass mounts.

Dimensions: total length in scabbard - 95,4 cm; without scabbard - 93,5 cm, blade's length – 79,8 cm; blade's width at hilt – 3,2 cm, thickness - 4,5 mm.
