François Caranda, received master on 4 January 1741, becomes "watchmaker to the king by delivery" to the furniture store. He settles in Versailles in 1778 and delivers pieces to Madame Elisabeth and Louis XVI. He often used crates made by Antoine Foullet (?-1775), a carpenter who was received as master on February 17, 1749. The latter, who lived in rue du Faubourg-Saint-Antoine, worked mainly for watchmakers, supplying them with crates that he decorated with cast bronzes at Heban, rue des Arcis. From 1752 onwards, he worked closely with Jean-Joseph de Saint-Germain (1719-1791, received the title of master bronze-maker in 1748), a renowned Parisian foundryman in the production of cases for clocks.
