此为清道光二十八年（1848）灵石杨氏连均簃原刻本吴才老韵补，竹纸2册。前牌记由何绍基题写。此书版刚刻出后不久就遭遇战火毁版。故存世绝少。但版刻极精，黄永年先生曾拿白棉纸本《白氏文集》换此丛书中之《说文义证》，可见前辈学者之重视。此吴才老《韵补》为研究古音韵筚路蓝缕之作，后来言古音者皆从此而推阐加密。此本附顾炎武《韵补正》。
