Willy Whitten (American, 20th century), Legends, bronze. Statue of a 'Ghost Dancer'. The ghost dance was the final effort by a disparate group of tribes to reclaim their ancestral way of life, culminating in the Wounded Knee massacre in 1890. No 15/350 in original box. Sculpture mounted on black marble with a turntable for 360 degree viewing. Dimensions: 19 5/8 inches tall X 7 1/2 inches diameter; 49.8 cm tall X 19.1 cm diameter. All measurements are approximate. Condition: No noted damage. Provenance: From a collection in Northern Virginia.
