A George III brass mounted mahogany bracket clock, John Thwaites, London, arched brass dial with silvered chapter ring and dial-centre, subsidiary dials to arch, eight-day verge movement striking on single bell, raised on bracket feet, makers name to verso, 45cm high. general wear to the silvering of the dial, gilding is good, possibility that clock has been overhauled/restored, case is in good condition, some natural splitting to the wood work around the side glazing panels, the going train is working, the striking and repeat striking were tested are worked. Movement has verge escapement with wire gut to fusee. Movement may have have restoration/replacement parts.
