A late 19th century French ormolu mounted Sevres style porcelain mantel clock, with jewelled decoration, of urn form supported by faun head ormolu supports upon a shaped oval base, the dial painted with Cupid, eight day Japy Freres movement numbered F1607/5355, width 8.25in. height 15.25in. CONDITION: All of the joints where ormolu meets porcelain are rather loose and wobbly, there has been a break through the neck of the porcelain just about l***l with the top of the faun's heads (just beneath the ormol***ing), this has been reasonably well restored but can still be seen, gilding to porcelain good, a few small losses to the jewelling principally to the turquoise coloured beading around the top of the base, dial a little dull in finish, is not and looks to n***r have been glazed, slight raising of the gilding around the white inter*****rs between the numerals looks slightly pitted, hands look original, gilt Sevres interlaced mark to the underside, movement has a bell but no pendulum or key, looks complete but unable to be ****ed for timekeeping.
