Dupuis à Paris. A mid 19th century French ormolu mantel clock, of architectural form, surmounted with the figure of a medieval gentleman holding a pen and scroll, the base with fruiting swags and central seated child, J. Pons eight day countwheel movement signed by Depuis, width 16in. depth 6in. height 22in. CONDITION: Overall of an ***n matted gilt finish with some small areas of dirt and oxidisation but essentially good, the raised scroll back above the movement is loose, main figure wobbles a little and both front lower finials are loose / out of shape, book resting upon the top above the dial is loose and has a soldered repair at the back, enamel dial original but heavily crazed with losses near 9 o'clock, hands look original, movement original and complete but lacks a pendulum and key so not ****ed for timekeeping.
