A Victorian inlaid maho***y and satinwood banded eight day quarter chiming longcase clock, the 12 inch arched brass dial with painted moonphase and silvered Roman chapter ring with silent / chime, four bells / eight bells selectors, subsidiary seconds and maker's plaque inscribed 'George Graham Clock Maker', the case with cockerel and eagle finials, glazed barred trunk door and parquetry inlaid side panels, late 19th century eight day movement chiming on four/eight bells and striking on a gong, W.1ft 8.1in. D.1ft H.8ft 4in. CONDITION: This clocks looks to have seen adaptations over the years, the likelihood being that it is a marriage of an old adapted case to an earlier dial and movement dating to c.1890-1900, finials are oxidised particularly the eagles, top of the hood looks to be a less welcome match than the rest of the case and is thought to be a later addition, dial with oxidisation particularly to the silvering, moonphase looks good, movement complete though not ****ed for timekeeping, one of the brass grille panels to the right side is loose, case with vertical splitting running through the base panel but otherwise good and of good rich colour, comes with brass wood stemmed pendulum and three brass cased weights.
