Round dish in polychrome enamelled porcelain in five colours known as "wucai", with a central decoration of the immortal Taoist Zhong Kui brandishing a halberd, flanked by two demons fleeing on either side, the rim decorated with a frieze of double gourds linked by branches in their moving foliage, decorated with eight Buddhist emblems (bajixiang) on the back of the rim, a frieze of lingxi along the foot. On the reverse, the six-character Wanli mark in a double circle in blue under cover. (Two cracks on the lip, ground edge, enamel wear). Diam. 23.8 cm.
