Two finely overlaid glass snuff bottles18th/19th century
The first a blue overlay on opaque white glass bottle, Yangzhou School, delicately carved with a maiden holding a lotus leaf standing next to a crane, the reverse featuring a boy holding a basket and fishing pole with his catch, one narrow side dated renzi qiuri (the autumn of 1852), with a carved seal mark reading 'Zhengke'; the second a red overlay milky-white glass bottle, 1750-1850, each main side carved with five bats to signify the 'five fortunes' surrounding a shou medallion, each narrow side further decorated with the auspicious lingzhi mushrooms and a bat.
