BUDDHA Bronze Gandhara , 2nd to 3rd century Dimensions: Height 14 cm by 7 cm Weight: 401,3 grams Seated Buddha on lotus podest with legs crossed in lotus pose. Only the soles of the feet are visible, the rest of the body is draped in a wavy robe. The garments resemble those seen on Roman imperial statues. The left hand is resting on the knee with the palm facing down, showing the varada mudra, gesture of dispensing boons. The face is solemn and quite with closed eyes. Elongated earlobes frame the face and tiny curls cover the head and ushnisha.
