KNEEING GUANYIN Bronze China , 14th to 15th century Dimensions: Height 16 cm by 9 cm Weight: 918,4 grams Kneeling Guanyin or Avalokiteshvara in wavy robes falling to the ground. The hands are held in each other in the lap. The head is round and soft-looking with a delicate face, the eyes are closed and lips small. Elongated earlobes frame the face and the hair is done up and held in a bun by a tiara. This is a female representation of the Bodhisattva of compassion.
