Made of high-quality jadeite, bright in colour and is suitable for carving into the bamboo. The carving of this green bamboo bonsai also took a lot of effort to carve the whole jade into three green bamboos. The shape of the bamboo joints on the green bamboo is realistic, the bamboo is inclined in one direction. The sculptor's observation of bamboo is very detailed. The whole work is excellent in continuity and overall, making full use of the characteristics of jadeite.
Since the early Qing Dynasty, bonsai planting flourished, many poets once wrote about bonsai, some books mentioned bonsai art. In the court life of the Qing Dynasty, a new type of bonsai was born, which was artificially made with various precious materials imitating the natural landscape. The statues bonsai made of gold and jade jewellery used in the palace furnishings of the Qing Dynasty set off the magnificence and splendour of the palace living environment. In the north, where the four seasons are cold and hot, the flowers, fruits and plants in these bonsais are always vivid and dazzling, often have obvious auspicious meanings, becoming an indispensable part of the palace culture.

用料为上好的翡翠，這種材料顏色鮮艷被用來雕刻成竹子再合適不過了。這一個竹盆景的雕刻上也是花費了不小的心力，將整塊玉石雕刻成三株綠竹，綠竹上的竹節部分形態逼真，竹子斜著向一個方向去生長，可以說雕刻者對於竹子的觀察十分細緻了。整個作品在連貫性和整體上極佳，充分的利用了翡翠玉石的特點。
自清初起，盆景栽植盛極一時，許多詩人曾題詠盆景，還有一些著作中述及盆景藝術。而在清代宮廷生活中衍生出一種新的像生盆景，系用各種珍貴材料仿自然景觀以人工製作而成。清代宮廷陳設所用以金玉珠寶製作的像生盆景，以襯托宮廷生活環境的堂皇富麗。在四季寒暑分明的北方，這些像生盆景中的花果草木卻永遠鮮艷欲滴，絢爛奪目，且往往帶有明顯的吉祥寓意，成為宮廷文化不可或缺的一部分。
