Pair of John Singer Sargent (American, 1856-1925) Portraits 1924. Charcoal and pencil. Mr. William Augustus Read & Mrs. Edith "Fabyan" Read. Both signed 'John S Sargent' (bottom middle) and dated 1924' (bottom right). F. W. Payne & Son, Copley Gallery, Boston gallery label (on reverse). Cataloge Note: Sargent is known to have done portrait drawings of Mrs. Theodore Frothingham, Jr. (born Eleanor Fabyan) sister of Edith (Mrs. William Read), and brother-in-law William Read.
