叶绿野，1922年5月生于广东龙川县通衢镇，原名老宪洪，早年在高剑父主办广州中南美术学院及春睡画院毕业。1950年参加广东西江文工团任美术队长，曾任增城县宣教委员会副主任、增城工艺厂美术工艺部主任，1978年后任广州美院讲师、副教授、教授。曾在人民美术出版从事年画，宣传画创作，并任中央工艺美院副院长。现为中国美术家协会会员，广州美术学院教授、广州市文史研究馆馆员。
