身为外来政权，满清帝王致力于塑造其正统性与无上皇权，此亦反映于当朝工艺，双龙戏珠纹取材古名瓷，云龙张扬，耀显皇威。自古，龙象征天子，然而乾隆帝对于龙纹之倾爱，应属前所未见，乾隆一朝，清宫各处均可见象征君王之五爪龙纹装饰。青花扁壶长方造形，珍稀非凡，彰显乾隆御窑之高度发展。方肩对称，或取材金属器形，非拉坯可得，仅能由模造拼合而来，双龙戏珠纹虽非罕见，着录未见同款扁壶。扁壶龙纹多见飞龙置中，龙首面对观者，此类双云龙各饰二侧，类属早明纹饰，如同此处二龙相对者，甚是少有。底青花书“大清乾隆年制”篆书款。来源：日本回流。
