顾老的紫砂作品以茗壶为主，年轻时先由方器入手，兼做圆器，随着其与书画界的交往，逐渐偏重光素器型的制作，最后是以几何形壶奠定其个人风格，找到属于自己的艺术创作方向。他还与名画家韩美林和中央工艺美术学院张守智教授合作制壶，为砂壶的发展注入现代美学概念。开创紫砂茗壶造型的新意境。他的代表作有：汉云、雪华、鹧鸪、提壁、上新桥、凤嘴壶、僧帽、仿鼓、石瓢、牛盖莲子等，其中牛盖莲子、鹧鸪壶获国家金质奖，僧帽、井栏壶获国家银质奖，并有许多佳作被国内外收藏家和博物馆收藏。
