【出版】王念祥著《明式木作珍玩》P134，荣宝斋出版社。 皮箱是一种体量较少的庋具，是从宋代的镜箱演进出来的，古时用来盛放梳妆用具、家居实用器物等。以后用来盛装贵重物品或者是文房用具。由于其携带方便，常用于官员巡视出游之用，故匠师俗称“官皮箱”。 此件黄花梨官皮箱造型儒雅，木质紧密细腻，纹理曲折柔美，包浆莹亮。整身呈长方形，门板与箱盖以圆形面叶相接，云头形拍子开口容纳钮头，门上饰圆形面叶及云头形吊牌，两侧安提环，铜件皆是卧槽平镶。内设抽屉八具，吊牌保存完好。底座为壶门式，流畅大气，是文人雅士的书房必备之物。
