直径21cm；高20cm
笔海是笔筒中尺寸较大的一类，不唯可以搁笔，而且可以放置卷轴、裁纸刀、如意、麈尾等物，无所不便，故名笔海。
黄花梨制，色黄褐色，木纹顺直，鱼肉纹明显，质地细腻，油性足。其形如尊，敦厚壮实。唇口外翻，磨制圆润光滑，触感温婉。稍收颈，腹部鼓出，至底端微收后外撇为圈足状。大拍底，以横断面黄花梨为之。
此笔海之形，乃是车旋而成，但是与一般的或平素，或起棱、弦线、雕刻等装饰手法不同，而将外形自上而下车为起复变化的瓷器、青铜器造型，颇具匠心，属于甚为少见的品种。
