菅原包则，又名宫本包则，日本近代最著名刀工之一，1830年生人，1927年去世，享年97岁。他与月山贞一并称为帝室双刀工，专门为日本皇室锻刀。此刀在铭：“帝室技芸员菅原包则八十八作，大正六年三月八日（1918年）、神护饭野吉三郎大开运大发展守刀”。指明此刀为菅原包则88高龄所作，颇为难得。此刀所有者饭野吉三郎是日本著名政治家、日本精神团总裁，曾经因与孙中山缔结誓约而闻名。随刀配有白鞘、刀装、登录证及日刀保证书，传承有序，身份清晰。全长58.3厘米。
