19th century The first a simulated Bizen stoneware model of Hotei holding a fan, partially hollowed out beneath, signed on the reverse Shisui with a seal Koku, 3.4cm (1 5/16in) high; the second of Sato Tadanobu lifting a goban with one hand and the hem of his robe with the other, with painted details, signed Shuzan, 5.4cm (2 1/8in) high; the third a blind masseur strengthening his muscles by lifting a large boulder, signed Gyokkei, 3.2cm (1¼in) high.
