A Chinese pottery roof tile, Ming dynasty (1368-1644), in the form of an official wearing a long robe seated on horseback, with one hand clasped at his chest and the other at his hip, glazed with amber, green and black decoration, 38cm high Provenance: The Estate of Virginia Chapman, late of Debden Manor. 明 琉璃人物骑像瓦 Condition report: Glaze peeled off in various places, small chips throughout. Figure repainted. Repair to the horse's four legs and tail and maybe other places.
