In 1926 at Fry’s insistence Wolfe joined the London Artist’s Association, a sponsored co-operative, and their support assisted him in travelling to Spain and Morocco in 1928. In Morocco he met the Poet. Morocco would be a joint French and Spanish protectorate at the time and the Poet was anti the occupation.
