A Chinese white jade hairpin dating from the 18th century or earlier. The head of the hairpin features a "Fu" character while the body features tracery on all 4 sides. Dimensions: 5 3/8 inches tall X 5/8 inches wide; 13.7 cm tall X 1.6 cm wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: It is in good condition. Provenance: From Mr. Zaun’s collection in Chicago, Illinois. Mr. Zaun lived in Taiwan with his wife in 1967-68 and began his interest in Chinese history and artifacts there.
