窑变釉为雍正时期创烧的仿宋代钧釉品种，是唐英督理景德镇御窑厂时仿钧窑釉色所繁衍出的一个创新品种，成为清代名贵的色釉品种之一，以雍正、乾隆二朝仿烧的制品最好，釉色以红为主，天蓝、月白、绿及褐等色，交融流淌，犹如火焰般万紫千红，绚丽多姿，俗语有“窑变无双”，谓其变化莫测，独一无二。此品与台北故宫博物院所藏的清雍正祭红胆瓶及南京博物院藏清乾隆窑变釉瓶于器型、釉色上较为相似，兹可比较。此品直口长颈，溜肩鼓腹，端庄大方，挺立超拔，外壁满铺窑变釉，釉面滋润，莹亮夺目，通体色泽妍丽浓烈，典雅含蓄，口沿红、蓝二彩斑斓交融，妙得宋钧釉神韵。无论是器型还是釉色都堪称经典，完整保存至今，颇为难得。
