A set of eight Arts and Crafts oak framed chairs, after a design by Charles Francis Annesley Voysey, the tall backs pierced with opposing heart motifs above caned panel seats, on square tapering legs, height 140cm, width 43cm, depth 50cm. Note: the original design for these chairs was created for Voysey's clients William and Haydee Ward-Higgs, a London solicitor and his wife, around 1898 for their home at 23 Queensborough Terrace. Through publications such as 'The Furnisher' magazine, this design was copied by contemporary and later craftsmen. Buyer’s Premium 29.4% (including VAT @ 20%) of the hammer price.
