Mr. Cheung was born in a wealthy family in Guangzhou, China in 1962. His parents are Chinese antique collectors; under the influence of family education, Mr. Zhang also has a strong interest in Chinese art, especially Chinese calligraphy, painting, and porcelain.Due to the transfer of his father's work, Mr. Cheung moved to Hong Kong with his parents when he was 13 years old. Although within two years, he came to Los Angeles, and began a new life.Mr. Cheung has engaged in real estate business in various cities around Los Angeles since the 1980s. After years of hard work and the support of his parents, Benjamin has achieved remarkable success in his career. At the same time, he is also committed to promoting Chinese culture to the outside world and often visits different auction houses in Los Angeles, Taxes, Florida, and New York City. As an early Chinese immigrant who worked overseas, Chinese antique artworks gave him a strong sense of belonging, and brought him spiritual comfort.Mr. Cheung passed away due to cancer in 2012 at the young age of 49. From the past few years of communication, we were fortunate enough to get to know Mr. Cheung’s wife, Ms. Lesley. Eight years later, in November 2020, to commemorate her deceased husband, Ms. Lesley has provided these precious antique artworks, handpicked by the late Mr. Cheung, for the collection.
