AN IMPORTANT MEISSEN CUP AND SAUCER, the cup painted with a group of merchants at a quayside, the saucer painted with two figures in a landscape with a church spire both framed by brightly painted scrollwork, crossed swords in underglaze blue and painter's mark W in puce to both, impressed 24 to cup and 54 to saucer, circa 1745.
