The ancient necklace consisting of 31 amethyst beads of oval and round shapes, pale to deep lavender color, and varying translucency, held together by a modern plastic string. This piece was personally examined by Burmese American archaeologist and gemologist Terence Tan, a leading expert in Pyu art and Burmese gemstones, and Hungarian gemologist Dr. József Takács. Their analysis finds that the stones are rare pink-colored amethysts, original, ancient, cut, carved, chiseled, bored, and ground. The beads are of different sizes and all made by hand using primitive tools. The color is original and natural. The stone has been cleaned by hand while preserving the fine ancient patina.
