Her natural talent has led her to exhibit in many shows throughout the South and garner a significant following with collectors. Rather than paint from nature, Hollinghead draws inspiration from memories and her religious upbringing. In spite of a difficult childhood defined by poverty and hunger, she chooses to focus on the joyful moments of her youth as well as the raising of her own children, which is evident in the lot on offer here depicting a mother enjoying the day with her two daughters on the beach.
