Inscription with five word poem and signature by the artist: "At the end of spring in the guiyou year (1933) painted by Wu Wenzhi at the South Sea (Nanhai)". Two seals of the artist: "Wen", "Zhi". Wu Wenzhi (1908-1992) was a landscape painter active in the 1930ies. The green coloring of this nice fan painting was popular with Shanghai painters of that time like Wu Hufan (1894-1968) - Provenance: Former old European private collection, assembled prior 1990 - Private property Frankfurt - Very minor traces of age
