Lu Chong (1908-1997), Red Lotus and Dragonfly, Fan painting, framed under glass, 18 x 50 cm, ink and colors on paper. Inscription with five word poem and signature by the artist: "Yifei". One seal of the artist: "Lu Chong". Lu Chong, style name Yifei, was from Changsha in Jiangsu province. He was a student of Wu Hufan (1894-1968) and specialized in the painting of flowers, birds, and insects. After 1949 he became professor at the Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts (Zhejiang Meishu Xueyuan) in Hangzhou. Hangzhou is famous for its beautiful lotus flowers covering the West Lake in summertime - Provenance: Former old European private collection, assembled prior 1990 - Private property Frankfurt - Very minor traces of age
