简介：释大醒，江苏东台人。俗姓袁。法名机警，号大醒，别署随缘，于扬州天宁寺出家，入武昌佛学院就读，成为太虚门下的一员。主持南普陀与闽南佛学院，并创办“现代僧伽”杂志，在当时社会上弥漫着庙产兴学摧毁佛教的风潮中，发挥了护卫佛教的作用。
