紫砂此把巨轮珠式壶，以紫泥铺沙为材，平底筒式腹，壶身上阔下敛，平盖。敞口设计便于入茶，炮口出水爽利。宝珠形壶钮精巧圆润，壶身环线装饰一周。其小器大样，精、气、神表现的恰到好处，追求极致拙趣。日本收藏家奥玄宝（1836-1897）极爱中国紫砂壶，并着《茗壶图录》一书，其中对于巨轮珠式壶出现的年代及艺术品位，给予极高的评价，其造型的朴拙之气韵很符合日本茶道的审美需求，故在晚清民国时，此类壶多外销于日本，风靡一时，此拍品便为其中之佳器典范。
